چکیده

A healthy 42-year-old woman presented proteinuria and hematuria on regular medical check-up two years ago. Her other laboratory examinations did not show any abnormal findings, including renal function, anti-neutrophil antibody, anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody, C3, C4, or immunoglobulin. Her blood pressure was also normal. Because flank pain had developed, color Doppler ultrasound of the kidney was performed. There was a 2-cm-sized renal cyst with blood flow in the right kidney (Fig. 1). Computed tomography angiography and renal angiography demonstrated it to be a renal arteriovenous malformation (RAVM) (Fig. 1, 2). Based on the size of the malformation, its location, and symptoms of the patient, we planned elective endovascular treatment. Successful

Incidentally Detected Renal Arteriovenous Malformation: a Case Report and Review of the Literature

Renal arteriovenous malformations and fistula are an uncommon, underdiagnosed condition that can be asymptomatic. However, there is a real risk of rupture and severe bleeding. Imaging techniques have a critical role in planning the treatment. Arteriography is the gold standard but is invasive. Diagnostic selective arteriography can be followed by embolisation of the lesion during the same proce...

A rare case of incidental pancreatic arteriovenous malformation correctly diagnosed with MDCT.

CONTEXT Pancreatic arteriovenous malformations are a rare entity that can be incidentally discovered during MDCT examinations. CASE REPORT We describe a rare case of asymptomatic arteriovenous malformation presenting at MDCT as a hypervascular mass in the pancreatic head. CONCLUSION Pancreatic arteriovenous malformations are a rare entity, often asymptomatic, that can be correctly diagnosed...

An intratesticular arteriovenous malformation identified incidentally during ultrasound evaluation of scrotal trauma

Intratesticular arteriovenous malformation (AVM) is an extremely rare benign testicular lesion. Ultrasonography (US) usually reveals a hypoechoic solid vascular mass within the testicular parenchyma. Herein, we report our experience with a young patient in whom an intratesticular AVM was found incidentally by US during the workup of scrotal trauma.

Cerebrovascular manifestations in 321 cases of hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Patients with hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT) are at risk for developing cerebral vascular malformations and pulmonary arteriovenous fistulae. We assessed the risk of neurological dysfunction from these malformations and fistulae. METHODS Three hundred twenty-one consecutive patients with HHT seen at a single institution over a 20-year period were studied. A...

Varicocele due to renal arteriovenous malformation mimicking a renal tumor: a case report

BACKGROUND Renal arteriovenous malformation is an aberrant vascular connection between the renal artery and vein. Acquired renal arteriovenous malformation (arteriovenous fistulae) accounts for approximately 70% of renal arteriovenous abnormalities. Congenital renal arteriovenous malformation, relatively rare, can result in significant hematuria which may require arterial embolization or nephre...
